Door hinge bolts
Afternoon chaps, I'm having a lot of trouble getting my doors off due to the bolts holding them on have been in for 20 odd years ! I've soaked them penetrating oil for a few days and also cut a grove in them so I can get good leverage with my big rachet flat head but still none of them will budge !! Has anyone got any tips on getting them out as this is holding the welding being done. Thanks in advance

Re: Door hinge bolts
Line the chissel up in one of the slots and give it a good wack with a club hammer. Use like a non wood work chissel ie brick chissel etc.

Re: Door hinge bolts
They wont be rusted in. Its just the seal of the surface area on the back of the head holding to the panel. If the chisel fails just drill the heads off and you will be able to wind the thread out real easy. Then just replace with some other M8 fixing of your choice.
I used stainless domed allen headed bolts

Re: Door hinge bolts
Or just get the grinder out and put a small cut in the bolt and then use a big flat head screwdriver

Last resort i use to to drill them out then use mole grips on the remaining stud.
