SJ410 ignition timing marks

Post by SteveR » Sat Aug 10, 2013 6:08 pm

Hi all

Could someone please confirm that the timing mark on the 410 is the right angled point on the flywheel housing. I can't see any lines marked on the housing so assume it must be the point of the triangle lines up with 10 degree btc.

also being a mechanical advance unit assume I should put a few drops of engine oil down holes in distributor onto springs every so often. Is this correct.

Thanks
Steve

Yes that's correct with the marks

I've never really bothered with dribbling a bit of oil down onto the springs but doubt it would hurt

Thanks for the confirmation.

Timing was slightly out, now running like a sowing machine.
