Of you could use a g clamp n block of wood or some stillsons.

normally I would agree but once you have tried everything properly and asked it nicely and nothing plays ball sometimes all that's left in your arsenal is a huge hammer, this was one of those times! best not tell you how I managed to get the piston out in the end then lol!
