Post by timwilks13 » Wed Aug 14, 2013 9:48 am

If this has been asked before i apologise as i have had a search and couldnt find anything!

What are the largest tyres you can stretch too on a standard SJ with no sort of lift or VL?

Ive seen people put 225s on with no cutting... they look a bit tight though, depending on the tread pattern... personally on a standard height one I wouldn't go more that 215s

hahah yes!!! Ive got 235x85r15s (29") on mine and I needed at least a 2" lift, and wheel spacers...

otherwise they rubbed on the arches, the springs, the bumper mounts... basically everything!

235/75r15 fit a stock height sj with a bit of trimming to the standard front bumper and mounts.

If you run an different front bumper and remove the front bumper outriggers completely and fold over the seam on the bulkhead you should be able to fit on 30" at a push.

do the 31s you want actually measure 31" you find se only measure 30"

I tried 31's on my sammy with no lift

They were fine in a straight line, it's when you came to turn that you had problems!

They only rub because of your shackle reverse ;)

I used to run 31x11.50s with 2" lift and after folding over the seam on the bulkhead they were fine.

Tim you don't run a stock front bumper do you so just cut off the outriggers ;) fold over the seam and they might fit
