which clutch kit
morning everyone.
I'm gonna be changing my clutch in the not to distant future. the problem im having is that im running my santana f10a engine from my old 89 plate sj.
im gonna be swapping to a 5 speed from andyrew. so my question is do I got for the clutch for the 89 plate engine or the box from andy?

new clutch whilst your down there. id always change a clutch if im splitting the engine and gearbox! just makes more sence otherwise 300miles or so later you might be taking it all apart again!

Re: which clutch kit
no I mean there is a choice on the new ones. Basically if I use the reg for my engine the part number is different to the sj im using now.
for example if I use the g reg its adk83017
the c reg is adk83008
but because my g reg engine is in the c reg I dunno what clutch to use without stripping it all down.
clear as mud lol

Re: which clutch kit
Use your old reg, however it shouldn't matter as i'm 99% sure all 410s should use the same clutch
Re: which clutch kit
Will depend on which flywheel you use, as there is an early and a later type
Re: which clutch kit
My Santana 5 speed had a different clutch basket? Can't remember the name gone brain dead, to the 4 Speed VBJA Van I swapped it into from what I remember it was the clutch basket locating dowels that were different and I just used the best bearing/clutch!ScottieJ wrote:Use your old reg, however it shouldn't matter as i'm 99% sure all 410s should use the same clutch
Which is similar to my 106, later models have a different flywheel but the clutch itself & release bearing is all the same.

Either way Steve just use the reg that the original engine came out of, unless you swapped the flywheel from the new SJ onto it, then use the C reg plate
