Removing Gearbox From A Vitara, WITHOUT A RAMP!!

Post by rory-ray » Fri Aug 30, 2013 11:08 pm

Ok

Me and my mate had to take the 16v engine out one of the vitara's were breaking, engine was a doddle, disconnected everything ready to be separated from the gearbox, undone the bolts connecting the box to the block and it DID NOT move. A hour of scratching our heads, a few smacks with a persueder and a slight bit of stress starting to show we devised a plan.

Bolted the engine back onto the mounts and done this......

After this was done the box was unbolted and removed, car pushed back over and engine removed no problems!
