Post by Jay18 » Thu Sep 05, 2013 6:59 pm

my sj is charging at 15v so i ned a new regulator for it, does anyone know where i can get one?

i found this one but not sure if the 413 and 410 use the same alt..

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alternator-Vo ... 4169932adc

the alternator on my SJ is a mitsubishi 12v40A alternator..

it has on it:

400 - 80010

the label is faded so its hard to tell what it says but in big letters it says A1T33771

if anyone can help me find a regulator then that would be great thanks, need to sort it asap before i fry my electrics lol...

just had a look in the workshop manual and it says you have to unsolder things to get that alternator apart

Above also says the max level is 14.6volts so your not much above.

It may depend on your multimeter, I have one that only shows full volts..... 14.6v will round up to 15,

I've got two. One is pretty good, the other....It'll tell you if there is a voltage, but I don't trust it to tell me accurately.
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

I've used two different multimeters and they say between 15.4 and 15.6v so it definitely needs to be sorted, thanks for that darrel, will get one of them regulators ordered soon..
