Filler will just keep vanishing through the hole and block up the sill more and make more rust elsewhere.

If you are thinking of getting an MOT just to get it home why not just hire a trailer. Would probably be cheaper than the cost of a load of filler and a MOT and will save any other hassle if it fails on something else. Plus you wont have to spend hours hacking out and cleaning off a sill full of filler before welding it.

if your going to buy it and flip it for a few quid. just get the garage to weld it up.

if its a basic plate on the sill id have thought the price would be about £50. MOT welding repair standard is not pretty. but its function over looks.

relisitcally to bodge it youd probably spend near that in materials and fixing it after. it could
possibly still fail if the bodge is to obvious. thus costing another £50 for a retest.

speak with the garage and find out a price maybe pop in with a photo of the area.

If £50-70 of welding is to much out of the profit potential then just leave it and walk away.
if your making less than £100 on any vehicle is pretty pointless.
been there done that.

I broke a discovery up once and made around £1200 profit :doublethumbs:
but then I once made £3.80 profit of a discovery once :hahaha:
