Atchi,

Very nice work and thanks for sharing the info. Have been over on team swift for quite some time tring to read through all the different parts that can be swapped. Got to say that a guy can get a real headache after a while.

You have picked out several of the parts that I had question on and put me in the proper direction.

Very nice looking block guards. I also helped a guy out with a custom set for his block.

The aftermarket ones don't really fit and put too much stress on the sleeves. There was also something about hot spots at the tops of the bores causing piston and ring problems.

I have an odd hybrid engine build I'm getting all the info on before pulling the trigger.

Question: Are you going to use the main cap stiffiner? If so could you let me know where to get one.

hi my name is Mike and live just outside Bath, i have a swift gti engine in my sj with motorbike carbs.
having problems getting the thing through the mot on emissions, it is chucking out to much un burnt fuel out the exhaust.
you say you have a mate in Bristol who knows these engines?
any chance you could ask him if he has any clue what i can do to sort this?

Hi Mike,

What carbs are you using?
I know that if you are using smaller bike carbs, you may be running too rich in order to run your car.
I have R1 carbs in for my Mini and have been told it will work better than any other carbs.

i think they are either fire blade or gsxr ?
i windered if the electric fuel pump could be part of the problem, wondered if it is worth a pressure valve.
i also have rigged the plumbing so it can return excess fuel to the tank and still doing it, whats really anoying is the fact it is just over.
if i went for r1 carbs how much would i be looking at ruffly for a set?

What pressure pump are you running, pretty sure most people run a pressure regulating valve with bike carbs.

Filter king will be the best one to buy as they are adjustable.
You only want 3-4psi fuel pressure for bike carbs as they are gravity fed.

R1 can be as much as £80 but you can buy then as little as £40.
