If doing the whole thing body, chassis, interior engine bay etc 5l is more than enough when rollering. I think we did Karis's with 2.5l

I need to decide what colour to do the Lwb was actually thinking about doing I the colour my sj used to be, I liked that colour.

Love that colour! Sorry to hijack but do you have any other pictures of that and it's pickup conversion?

Want to know how neat its possible to get the rear bulkhead

It's still the same SJ I have today ;)

The pics aren't very good but it used to have a soft back so I could roll it up in the summer

Is it not unusual for these to be painted with a roller then? My recent purchase has a very poor roller effect finish which I don't like. Surely it's going to be better with a spray can at the least?

it would look better when sprayed yea, but rollering means i wont have to mask everything off, and its quick and easy to touch up. ideally i would like to lift the whole body off, get it sanded painted and baked, but thats not going to happen, so ill just roller it! i have seen some of the rolling that jordi has done and it has come up quite nicely!

Rollering gives a much thicker coat than spray. Its cheaper to bulk buy paint in liquid form than aerosol.

A poor spray job looks even worse than an average roller job. Takes a lot more body work prep to spray it too.

I like to roller purely for the fact we drive down lots of very scratchy trails so a perfect paint job would soon get ruined, it's also nice and easy to touch up. If you thin the paint down loads and do lots of thin coats you can get a really good finish that doesn't have the usual 'textured' look of rollered paint jobs

I might spray the lwb though just because I want that to be mint!

All fair points them I understand your reasoning. As a 'buyer' however, I would prefer to see the standard paint finish no matter now bad, over a roller painted finish.
