Identifying Transfer Boxes
Does anyone know how to tell the difference between a 410 and a 413 transfer box?
I'm guessing I should be able to count the number of turns on the input relative to the outputs or something but I'm not sure how many turns each transfer box should have.
I have found that in 4wd low, roughly 2.3ish turns on the input equals 1 turn on the output. From the limited info I've been able to find, would that make it a 413 box?

I know like 410 boxes has the handbrake on them but i think 413's can be modified to run the drum so your best waiting for someone with the info i think there was a sticky about it somewhere,..

413s also came with the transmission handbrake.
Think it is 2.5 turns for a 410 and 2.25 for a 413.

That was roughly the info I'd been able to find elsewhere on the internet. Unfortunately that confirms the box I'd bought as a 410 is actually a 413 :(

No, the price was reasonable, fortunately the guy I bought it off was pretty good. He said he thought it was 410 but if I subsequently found it was a 413 he'd swap it for another he had. Thanks for the help!
