Re: overheating on 1.7td engine conversion
What rad are you running?
Janspeed manifold, LWB Vit vented discs and calipers
Build thread -- Build photos -- HLA-Artwork
Coming soon: YJs, Trussed axles, Full float rear.
Re: overheating on 1.7td engine conversion
its not the rad as i changed it for the 1.7td astra rad . im now thinking its the temperature stat giving of a wrong signal to the temperature gauge.

Re: overheating on 1.7td engine conversion
If your running the 1.7 temp sender and the 1.3 temp gauge they won't be calibrated together, giving a false reading.

Re: overheating on 1.7td engine conversion
ive ordered a digital one so should sort that problem out. Im fitting it along with a 200tdi rad
or would you leave the 1.6 vitara rad in??

Re: overheating on 1.7td engine conversion
As long as the rad is the correct rad for the engine and the fan is located correctly behind it i wouldn't change it again.
Just try a different / universal temp gauge

Re: overheating on 1.7td engine conversion
yeah i will get the gauge fitted see how it runs if not i got 2 option either t it off to the back and fit a spare rad and fan or change the one in it as i think the 200tdi is the largest one you can fi in the front.
ive just took the power steering pump out and instead of 2 belts am running on 1 now with my alternator sounds and runs sweet like this.

Why not just fit power steering?
