Hi, im fitting a 1.9D pug/ldv engine in my old samurai. Obviously engine doesn't fit onto Suzuki gearbox. Anybody know where i can get a convertor/adapter plate to make it fit?
cheers. Emyr.
adapter plate
Re: adapter plate
Most use the LDV 200 box.
Re: adapter plate
And fit onto the transfer box?
Re: adapter plate
You will need a custom made short propshaft to couple the gearbox to the transfer box when I did mine i made it 130mm long I think which is very short
1991 Suzuki Samurai, 1.6 16v MPFI, 4.16:1 Transfer Box, Rear Lockrite Diff, SPOA, YJ Springs, 31X10.5x15 Maxxis Trepador Tyres on BK Wheels, 8000LB Winch and Bumper, PAS Conversion
Re: adapter plate
Yes, mine is silly short literally two uj's with a weld between. I've known someone run just one UJ

Hi kida, when i did mine i used the LDV pilot propshaf to join to the SJ transfer box, if you get the UJ from the T box and use just the UJ by cutting off the prop the cut end of Pilot prop will fit over it nicly to make a prop your own length.
To balance it myself i fitted the T box where i wanted it ( after i did this i dont think i needed to actualy remount to T box ) also the G box, then i turned the T box and when the prop wasnt...say wobbly, i tacked and welded it up, i done thousands of miles like this and towing a caravan without any problems.
Good luck kida
