hi all need some help my grand vitara 2.0 TDI 2001 with Rhz the engine has become noisy on the top end ? .
does it have hydraulic cam followers ? if I need a head reconditioned with a supply and fit where is the best place to go ? I`m in the south east, And what sort of price would I be looking at ?

From what I have found they are hydraulically adjusted.
I'll be honest and admit I know sod all about this engine.
Googling the part number came up with a set for about 70 euro, and could well sort it.
I've only ever changed a set on my old ford CVH engine and it made it much quieter.

Have you tried changing the oil? hydraulic tappets can be sensitive to oil quality and grade.

hi m8 yes have changed all oil`s, but has been standing for about 6 month`s, took it for it`s MOT Friday, good new it passed, but as I say got really noisy on the top end, And to top that the clutch has started slipping aRRRRRRRRRRRRR not much left LOL.
