front wheel bearing quesition

So I have took the front wheel bearing out and it looked a bit rusty but ok so when I wiggle the shaft there is a bit of play between the shaft and something but is that kingpins gone I have took the disc off and that thing that holds the disc on

There is some play in the shaft. If kingpins there will be ply in the hub you wont see it in the shaft and looks like you've had some water in there

Would have been better if it was all on, but try moving it up and down and see if hub moves. Either try the part where the bearings bolt up or grab the back plate, hands at 12 and 6, and push pull, Look round the back and see if there is any movement of the hub

Ok I will have a look the seals are all good and I have already ordered the wheel bearings

So let's hope its just the wheel bearings fingers crossed

If water has got in there it will more than likely be in the swivel housing as well so I would personally strip that down and give the kingpin and CV joint some fresh grease before you put it all back together. Don't forget to use silicone when fitting the fwh/drive flanges.

The shaft is supposed to float in the stub axle like that. it's the fwh/drive flange that holds it central.
