Sounds like it needs binning ;)
Still running the original carb, but tin worm is getting the better of her, so not going to throw money at her.
This could well be her last winter  .

But I said that last year.
And the year before that.

Thanks Andy. It's been this bad for the last 10 years and being a lazy barsteward I probably won't do anything about it.
I will admit it stinks of unburnt fuel when on choke and I do lots of short trips to work that don't help.

How bad is the tinworm? I'm not that far from you and could help with repairs

Thanks for the offer
I have access to the gear at work to fix it, but am fed up with fighting rust.
She's not bad compared to many you've fixed but I use it as a daily drive and I know winters going to take it's usual toll..
I shall she what state it's in next spring and decide then if I can be bothered.
The normal places are rusted
It's going to need a virtual lift, the sills are now going, the rear lower panels are rusting from the inside, the doors are rusting though, bit of rust here, bit of rust there.
At a glance it looks quite tidy but I've been patching things up for years.

I think I must be getting old as I can't be arsed with all the work it needs.
I'll have to see what's left after the bloody road-salt's been at it

Thanks anyway. :D

Welcome to the world of my SJ Darrell... Ive had to replace both front footwells, and parts of the rear footwells, the rear arches.... I expect by the time the sun comes out again in 6 months I will be able to see though the floor once again ;)
