clutch problem

clutch problem

hi i gotta problem with my 1985 5 speed sj410 just fitted a new clutch and now the pedal only moves halfway then wont go no further cable is good friction plate is the right way round i got the clutch offa ebay and actully rang them and gave them all the info every thing seems to fit ok the engine has a 5 speed box and i have bin told this is only on santanas but my vin is for jap any ideas any one on the plus side i can now remove the box in under an hour after doin it three times in one day

have you checked to make sure the clutch lever isn't hitting on anything that's stopping it?
get a friend to repeatedly press on it and see... if so you can take the lever and move it round on its splines

Otherwise it's just pushing the thrust bearing into the clutch cover...

thats what it feels like but all clear i put a tube over it for leveridge and pushed the arm forward and it still doin it its like it wont go no further
