Ooooh mike don't say that, I'm getting more and more tempted to convert mine back to injection

An SJ413 engine would give a 40% power increase, a Jimny engine would give a 78% power increase and a Swift GTi engine would give a 122% power increase. All those options are also considerably lighter than the 410 engine.

Yeah well a 40% power increase isn't cost effective when you factor in insurance costs for an 18 (i think) year old

What I mean is you might as well put in some flavour of 1.6 engine.
Easiest, most cost effective way to go.... rather than going for a 1.3 now and then putting a 1.6 in later

Also, G13 engines aren't great engines anyway

Me and Jay discussed it and his insurance won't even cover a 1.3 upgrade so its a moot point anyway

Have to be careful with stats though, I put a 413 engine into my 410, but with the old 410 transfer box and original 195 tyres means that any engine power advantage is lost through the ratios. Still have the same top speed, even with the 5th gear, so that 40% power increase hasnt made any difference.

The 1.3 is a sloth compared to the lovely revvy F10. Jay just needs to learn to rev it more!

Helens is still on standard tyres and 70 is OK so on 31s the revs must be dramatically reduced and that's what he seems to keep mentioning all the time.

You've only done half a job, I was only too pleased to ditch my old 410 engine.

ill notice the difference when i get bigger tyres fitted im sure, but just as a straight swap for more power the 413 into a 410 is pointless imo.

At the end of the day when it comes to the 1.0 and 1.3 it all depends on the health of the engine.

My old 1.0 on 31s was a mint low mileage engine and friends with 1.3s on smaller tyres couldn't keep up with it

Yeah to be fair I am basing my judgement purely on the engines I've had experience with. However based on forum posts alone the 1300s seem to give a lot Kore hassle than the 970s

I was keeping up with Helen's Jimmy (g13bb) the other day in her 410 but it was close.
