Will it need a cat?

Hey dudes

Lobbing a 16v lump with a cat fitted into a 93 samii with no cat
Im under the impression that I wont need the cat for the mot?

Anyone shed any light on the situation?

I believe if it didn't have one originally you don't need it, but if your using the fuel injection I don't know what the exhaust sensor would make of it.
I'm sure somebody can give a much better answer than that :oops:

You won't need a cat so long as it meets the original Sami emissions I believe.

If its a Vit engine then it won't have a second O2 sensor so it won't need a cat.

Be careful with 93 sammys, some MOT stations emissions test machines seem to want to only put mine in for the cat test!
