It could just be the terrain. My SJ was understeering in the mud at Wagtail
There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

I have been told that there is a bolt that you can take out and this will help for sharp corners

The full lock is normally limited by one of the bolts that hold the felt retaining plates on the knuckles. If you totally remove it the retainer will be less secure and the tyres will probably catch the springs.
Might be worth a little trim to get a little more from it though.

Would wheel spacers make any difference ,tyres used to rub sprigs on my 410 before I fitted spacers

Re: crap turning circle on.my 410
Found this post about the bolt.
I suppose it could be trimmed to the point where the tyre is almost touching the spring.
I assume the barfield joint won't mind a little extra angle ?
I don't think spacers will help as the steering angle would still be the same.

Re: crap turning circle on.my 410
Wheel spacer increase the scrub radius so will actually reduce your turning circle compared to stock. It can also give more feedback from the road so it will be slightly harder to keep your SJ in a straight line and the steering will be heavier during turns.
