how much is too much ????

Post by sharon » Thu Dec 19, 2013 7:00 pm

just paid 600 for j reg sj413 sport, its a non runner, does turn over but wont start. theres a small bend in the chasis but not major. have 1000 to get this on the road. want to stay as original as possible. for what i want i would have to have paid between 1500 and 2000 so have the funds in my budget. i know its hard for any of you to judge without seeing the vehicle but do you think 1000 is enough to get this up and running ??? :?: :?: also body work is good, no rusty old pooper.

Doesn't sound too bad at all. Especially if it's not rusty.

I think it was £600 I paid for mine a few years ago as a non runner, with no MOT, and it needed the back of the front seats welding up. Oh yeah, it had no rear lights, or place for them, plus many other bits wrong with it.

Get some pics up by the way :D

have got a pic on my facebook not sure how to put it on here....not very techno savy lol. mines mot ran out in july with no advisories. needs 2 tyres, reverse light cover and hazards dont work, other than that its a pretty vehicle. i had one as my first car 20 years ago and want to go back to my youth haha. cant get petrol into carb. my mechanic is superb but hes fully booked for months, so hoping to find someone in south east to help. i WILL get this on the road !!!

It sounds an easy fix really.

Tyres are easy if you are just going ON road. I'm sure someone on here will have a reverse light cover for a couple of quid. With the hazards they just wont have been used ('cos it's a Zook and they don't break down, LOL) So just try turning them on and off lots of times. Sounds daft but may just clean the contacts in the switch.

As for the fuel it might be just a bunged up fuel filter. It's on the inside of the chassis by the drivers side rear wheel.

I bet that's the first time that has been said on here! :hahaha:

Back to your youth, I know the feeling ;)
