Alternator for H reg Vitara 1600cc automatic

Post by Richardds » Thu Dec 26, 2013 11:06 pm

Hi
Very happy to acquired the vehicle from a salvage yard for a very reasonable fee, in part helped no doubt by some dubious electrics!

No tax, no mot, no V5. Since identified as 'grey' import - first recognised by DVLA in 2003.

Managed to get it home, jump start got to garage where passed MOT (couple of advisories which will worry about later).

Electrical issue identified a car requires new alternator.

Anyone local to Maidstone, Kent got one spare, working for a reasonable price. Or know if alternator(s) from other cars would work?

Need to get this baby on the road - wife getting fed up with having to ferry me!!

Thanks in advance
Richard

Sounds like a bargain, guess someone will be along to help, if not there are loads on ebay.
If it ticks over...leave it

You should be able to use sj/samurai alternators as well... just make sure you get one with the correct pulley as some use a multi-v belt, some use a toothed belt
