Have I Been Diddled?

Post by Famerbennie » Sat Feb 01, 2014 5:20 pm

Hi All Brought A SJ Which Was Listed With A 1600 8v Fitted But On Closer Inspection Im A Bit Worried That I've Been Had As I Would Appear That The Engine Code Is 1290  Any Help Would Be Much Appreciated.

Will say on the passenger side of the block near the gearbox bell housing

1590cc if it's a 1.6.

1298 or 1324 if it's a 1.3

Also it will either have an adapter plate fitted or the lower bell housing bolts will be modified as they don't line up with the 1.6 block and 1.3 gearbox.

Steady as she goes!

If it moves when you put your foot down its a 1.6.

If it makes a light farting sound and not a lot of movement its a 1.3

That sucks!

Can you go back and have a word with the person you bought it from?
