Re: Sj410 doesn't like water
Its annoying getting water in the dizzy... I think a few people have thrown around the idea of a small cheapy compressor to blow air into the dizzy cap keeping it positively pressurised while you do through water...
Might have some effect on vacuum advance though so I would only do run it through water...
Maybe so rad fan goes off and compressor goes on

Re: Sj410 doesn't like water
I still don't understand how you are actually getting the dizzy wet? It's right at the back of the engine bay and high up? I've never had an issue with getting the dizzy wet unless the water was physically up to the dizzy
This was years ago, only change to the engine was a snorkel, still had the original fan etc.

Coil glove? Do explain, mine has a latex glove over it.ScottieJ wrote:I've never waterproofed the dizzy on any Suzuki of mine and it's never been an issue! Only thing I used to have a cover for was the coil and it was a proper coil glove.

Re: Sj410 doesn't like water
I had a split in one of my ignition leads right at the dizzy end of it... it didn't short out normally unless you drove through a puddle... even the smallest of puddles!

The dissy only got a bit damp the outside if the dissy looked dry but when I opened the dissy there was a bit of moisture in there so I blown and dryed it out and sprayed wd40 and I fired up so I will defo get the dissy waterproofed

You might also want to check the condition of the rubber gasket/seal between the base of the distributor cap and the distributor body in case water is entering through.
