Rocklobster Intermediate Shaft

Post by Hodgie812 » Wed Mar 05, 2014 8:10 pm

Got my 410/413 t-boxes from Mike Harris today. Cheers mate. Anyway reading the article on building a R/L cutting, machining and welding is required to make the new intermediate shaft. Who is best to approach for doing this, and how much should i be looking to pay? I'm guessing Rockwatt, but is there anyone else out there?

Is that for a new gear or to have the old ones machined and welded?

Speak to Richard Wattam, rockwatt. Seriously there's no point going else where.

Cut and welded gears. Richard can source any ratio gears you want direct from manufacturer though.

If you just want the intermediate gear done rich will do just the machining and welding if you send him both the intermediate gears but it's cheap enough just to send him the whole lot and he'll do everything.

I charge £140 just for the gear work or £260 for them fitted in a fully refurbished case. That's working on an exchange basis.

Cheers Rockwatt, we spoke on the phone. I've checked my gear ratios in the transfer boxes and there both correct. Just saving the pennies and the two shafts will be on their way to you soon.

just a couple more questions, how much of a gear reduction would i get just using the R/L box and how easy is that? Also would it be possible to see a couple of picks of your twin transfer set up? Just want a visual to see how the setup looks and what im aiming for.

thanks Jamie.
