leaky transfer box
hi my sj has been leaking oil out transfer box where the lever goes in is it a seal or will it be a case of tightening it up if its a seal i need where can i get one from? thanks Ben
Re: leaky transfer box
There should be a rubber gator that covers where the lever go's in.

To add that can go hard, if not used for a long time and splitferris wrote:There should be a rubber gator that covers where the lever go's in.

Re: leaky transfer box
Use a small screw driver like a tyre lever, and slowly work around it. That should lift it on.

Re: leaky transfer box
I was just wondering what peoples opinions are on this.
There is no seal , just an outer gaiter.
Does the shifter bush act as a seal or does the slot on the shifter allow oil past ????
I know I've seen quite a few pics of the bush breaking up.
I know this is not a proper seal but it's only got to stop oil splashing up.
I dunno

Re: leaky transfer box
Think its only the gaiter that dose the job, when mine split water got in and filled the box. then a lovely grey and pink cream substance started leaking out
