I would always recommend max braking.

If you were doing away with the back brakes just blank off the split in the engine bay.
It is a bad idea though. With rear drums the braking is bad enough. Just front discs would be suicidal to me.

Personally I think it's a very stupid idea only running front brakes, even offroad only.

take the drums off, throw all the stupid adjusters and springs at next doors dog and make a rear disc conversion... i'm halfway through mine now!
