Has anyone ever seen one of theses for sale?

Post by Kiwibrad » Sun Mar 30, 2014 10:08 am

I've found a few sj's on google images with rear bulk heads that look like they clip in where the removable hard top attaches. I had thought I would try and make my own but would save quite a bit of work if you could just buy one. Has anyone ever seen one for sale?

Muruti do a back like that, only place I've really seen them available is in India and second hand in Australia on marutis that have been imported.

That one could be aftermarket but I don't know of anyone who makes them in the UK

I know there is a company here in New Zealand that makes fibreglass rear panels to do a conversion like that. they have copied the kja cab back piece. they also do a roof to fit with it, but I know they're not cheap at $800 NZD, when they still have to be fitted. check out this link if you're interested

It's not a question of how much you spend on your suzuki, but when your money will run out

I don't know about the one shown above but the Maruti version allows you to have adjustable seats - a big plus over the KJA.

I wondered if it was a muruti panel. And yes I wanted to try and find or build something with a bit of room to recline the seats slightly and be able to fit a small bag or some tools in to keep locked and dry.
The trade me listing would probably be the way to go to see if they could do something but it is a bit on the pricey side then there is the freight costs. My sister is coming over in a couple of months from NZ, unfortunately I dont think she would have room for it!! I think I will keep a look out for a removable hard top and a tin top back door and see if i can make something work.

If I was going to make my own I would get a second Bhoop, mount it up behind the original and then build a back so you have a bit of extra space behind the seats and if done right could look quite factory.
