Those look very cool. Im just about to do box section sills on my lwb but now your've got me thinking to go for something like this? Surely the chassis is still the lowest point to catch even with box section sills?

One I done for a mate was a replacement outer cill panel.

Instead of bending in and then down for the seam joint at the bottom I just done
A 30º ish return along the bottom. So they are flat still but just angled
In a fraction. Plug welds along the bottom.

If you are poping down I can knock two up for you

Cheers for all the input guys, will keep you all posted but none of this gets thought about for now till the truck is actually running again!!

Yes the chassis rails are lower however the extra clearance under the sills can help in quite a few situations. On my swb I tucked the sills and made chassis mounted rocksliders, these are higher than standard sills and when most people fit rocksliders below standard sills this looses quite a bit of clearance, not so much of an issue if you have loads of lift but my SJ isn't much higher than stock.

Yea I read your build thread recently......love your work scottie. I always wonder why so many trucks are sitting in the clouds! Really impressed with the ride height of your sj with the suspension travel you have. I thought where the lwb would get let down would be getting caught in the middle or the overhang behind the rear wheels so I will defiantly take another look at the sills before get into them. Thing is I managed to end up with quite a tidy lwb and feels a bit wrong to cut it up to much!

Cheers, I'm really happy with how it came out and how well it performs, it's very rare that I left a wheel with the YJs.

They are still capable vehicles in standard form with good tyres so if the the sills are good I would probably leave them as they are, only reason I'm doing it on my Lwb is because the body and sills were shot, although it does have a 2" body lift.
On my fathers maruti we have rebuilt the sills as they are standard because it's quite a rot free body.
