Rear VL with tank still in

Post by timwilks13 » Wed Apr 09, 2014 1:07 pm

Got 3 of 4 arches now done, last one to do is the rear, but with the tank filler so close the the arch is it possible/safe to cut/weld carefully near it, or is this an accident waiting to happen? has anyone done it with the tank left on?

Leave the filler cap on and crack on! why's everyone so paranoid about welding 'near' the tank, it's going to almost be impossible that a spark is going to burn through a 5-6mm thick filler pipe or metal tank

So long as all the breathers / valve thingys are in good order and there isnt a massive odour of petrol it'll be fine.
