I used the metal case from my old pc case suitably bashed flat of course..grind off paint on edges where welding is going to take place ...did the drivers footwell with it.....slightly thicker than original floor metal but it welded in okay with my MIG..grind off paint from edges where welding is going to take place.....picture shows before paint is ground off and welded

Mines been welded with old steel lockers, dexion shelving,filing cabinets all between 1.2-1.6mm :weld:
It' a 4x4 why not drive it across a field

I got some patches on the landy made from a stainless microwave
Sid James gone but never forgotten
Jimny 1.6 not as good as an SJ but still good
