vitara door lock mechanism parts

Post by plugspanner » Fri May 23, 2014 5:30 pm

hi all
when I replaced the door locks on my vit one of the little plastic rod to mechanism clips snapped in to pieces, this means that the key will no longer open the passenger door and even when pulling the black button inside it is still difficult to open the door. the rod it is attached to is not pulled up enough due to the rod slipping inside the worn plastic clip, or what is left of it, so my question is, can you buy the little clips separately?
the rest of the mechanism seems to be all ok.
I do not really want a whole new lock ect, are Suzuki useful with these things?
or is it 'new lock only guvner!'
is there a part no for it?
hope someone can tell me, it must be the same on other Suzuki or other makes vehicles as I am sure I have seen similar ones, anyone got parts diagram or links to one?
thanks
shaun

I think the correct term for them is poppy doofahs (blame Jordi) and I asked for some a while back in the wanted section.

Had a shifty and can't find anybody selling Suzuki ones.
Assuming I'm thinking of the right clip.
Google "door lock rod clip"
You may find some the right size if you measure the rod diameter and the hole size in the lock :S
