found the problem!

Post by suzukisteve » Thu Jun 05, 2014 9:36 am

I posted up a few days ago about the sj having a break down. I have since found the problem. the prop between the g/box and t/box has battered itself to death.

to be fair I did have to modify it when it was converted to 5 speed so im not overly surprised. I didnt get on with the 5 speed overly so im going to change it back to 4 speed next week.

while im at it I may actually get round to fitting the fwh as its going to be used as a daily in the near future. :doublethumbs:

its nice to be back after not being on here for a while :smokin:

What did you do to modify it? I found that with large tyres 5th was useless unless you shifted into it above 50.

Get it sorted matey and come offroading on the 14/15th :poke:

well the prop wouldnt fit into the rear of the gearbox so we had to machine it to lessen the width.

I found that 5th doesn't really help unless, as you say, you get up to 50 plus. anything before is just pointless really.

I really do need a play session as I ainy been out for quite a while now!
