HARD ON
HARD ON
Hi all,
Driving back from supermarket yesterday i noticed that as i rolled to a stop at lights the anus pulled up on its own got out and with handbrake off could not push the anus at all on inspection the offside rear wheel was too hot to touch.....back in garage i had a hard job removing the brake drum even with the slide hammer on it when it was finally off i could see the auto adjuster was at maximum ramming the shoes against the drum hence the heat nothing appeared broken but the wheel cylinder was leaking and had put brake fluid onto the adjuster ..will of course change the cylinder but was it the fluid on adjuster the culprit ?????.....cleaned it all up with meths and on putting back together and operating footbrake all seems okay for now....
any thoughts on this ?????

Re: HARD ON
Mines a late model samurai so the rear brakes are slightly different but I hated those adjusters.... the rachet locking bar on mine always messed up, then the brakes either put themselves on, or completely slacked off

Re: HARD ON
Do you have a decent motor factors?
I always found it better to order with my reg number for wheel cylinders... as there seem to be many many different types

Re: HARD ON
I had a jap sj410 van which had the same bad breaks, was a nightmare to remove the drums
The breaks were jammed on one wheel so after replacing the jammed up wheel cylinder it was fine then.
I got my wheel cylinder from my local motor factors
