bikini top

Post by djc » Fri Aug 22, 2014 6:35 am

Any recommendations please - the best source for one that really fits nice, and the leading edge (where it slots above windscreen) is finished in a way it goes into the rail easily??
Thanks in advance

I know my full soft top is a Monsoon, and I'm pretty sure my bikinki roof is a Monsoon too.

They seem very good, but the bikini one is a bit loose width wise and is held with poppers, so isnt adjustable. The full soft top has velcro above the doors, so can be tightened.

I've got one that fits well. Can't remember who makes it.

My fastback is a monsoon roof though and the quality is second to none.

I might have a bikini top that I will part with....let me have a think. Doubt I'm going to use it anymore so I more than likely will.

I had a Bestop starpless bikini...was ace. Don't know what happened to it. I have a monsoon full roof at the moment that I had been really impressed with but now it has done two summers and has been removed quite a few times it has stretched and flaps around making lots of noise...so no longer madly impressed but I guess it was cheap.

I made one out of an old roof...worked brilliantly but I have now donated it to Andy!

Thanks Scottie - is it cream?? (call me fussy).
Dan's info is part-good. Bestop are in Colorado and seem to do anus stuff mainly, I will mail them I think.
The other handy thing that turned up was this:

Saw this on a UK advertised 410 - looks very neat. I think if I had one of these and a bikini that fits tight I'd give up on the full top as it's slow to put on and mine is too tight at rear lower corners.
If I get any useful info back from Bestop I'll report back.

The rear deck covers from Bestop are ace. Think they are called duster or something. There is a re-seller of Bestop in UK...should have had a look before I started this reply!!...think they are in Derby area. Its been a few years but think I ad to adjust cover to fit round my factory roll-bar

You say your hood is tight on rear poppers....do you have and use the straps that go from rear top corner of hood hoop to rings on rear of anus?? This should mean the poppers are not under toooo much stress...

The one I have is black.

Funny you should mention that bikini and that cover though as I have just bought one for my new samurai that's why I was thinking about selling my black bikini top.

Getting wierd this. Scottie has a black one, and 88SJ has a strapless one (what holds it up then?). Thanks for the offer of the black one but I think I may investigate Bestop - find UK importer.

p.s. 88 - I need to go look at my hood and frame, I may have missed summat.
