Welcome bud.

Depending on what your recovering / winching SJs/landys/Toyota a 6500lb to a 9500lb winch is ample, if used correctly.

Saves weight over the bigger 12000lb winches and can be bought with a short drum.

Synthetic rope to save weight and won't give you steel splinters if it gets damaged.

I've heard very good reviews of Superwinch, a lot of people use Warn winches. I'll get shot down for this, but I think they are very over priced.

I know a lot of people with very good reviews of the ebay specials too. The all singing 13000lb winches with compressor and pressure washer kinda winch for £300.

Cheers for the welcome... The winch goin on it has been sat in the work shop for 6 months the boys down here keep telling me to stop being Scottish and get it mounted... That's not the issue the issue is Iam after a few design snaps so I can't fabricate my own design ... Any one got a sleek looking mount on the front of there's feel free to post some ideas.. This truck doesn't go on public roads so no need for lights.... The only lights needed are gonna get mounted on a 360 degrees swivel on the roof to night hunt ... Cheers
