samurai vitara exhausts

Post by mk1joe » Wed Oct 15, 2014 6:34 pm

Hey guys,

been a while since ive been here, hope everyone is well!

Quick question... is there much difference between the 8v vitara exhaust and the 1.3 samurai exhaust?

ive got a 1.6 8v in my samurai at the moment but I have the standard samurai exhaust. is a vitara exhaust much bigger? would there be any advantages? is it worth me putting a vitara exhaust on it?

Thanks very much!

Presume a vit exhaust is routed / bent differently to match the vits shape.

Do you reckon the pipe is a bigger diameter?

Yeah I think so. I just made a bigger one. Seems to work well. SJ exhausts are small.

thanks mate, im thinking of doing a bit of an unconventional exhaust modification as a bit of an experiment. will let you know if it works.

what diameter do you think an sj exhaust is? I would measure mine but I don't have the car to hand at the moment.

Standard Vit zorst is about 10mm wider than an SJ one. Bung a cherry bomb on it...
If it ticks over...leave it

I noticed quite a bit of difference just with an uprated rear section...
reducer welded backwards to what was left of the flange end of the rear section
1.5" pipe with a cherry bomb on the end... 1.5" inlet, 2.5" outlet

With the 16v I had to make the exhaust from scratch, using the top part of the 16v downpipe for the flange, to 2" bent pipe, to 2" inline cherry bomb, flange, 2" straight-ish pipe > cherry bomb w chrome tip

final cherry bomb is 2" inlet 3" outlet

its bloody loud!
