Re: d86 get's a make over !!!!!!!
looks good tony, is the front just bolted to the scuttle or is there tube running down to the chassis on the other side of it?
I might have to call you up to help me with my cage, looks like your pretty handy with a pipe bender!

Re: d86 get's a make over !!!!!!!
hi scott.
the front legs are bolted to the scuttle, then there is a short length of tube wich goes down to the chassis rail.(effectivly sandwitching the scuttle).
the rear legs land on the inner arches then again a short length will go down to the chassis.
then a diaginal (door bar) will go from the back leg to the front support leg tying it together.
ive not decided on the rear yet but will be simple as i only have enough tube to do it once .
then a "v" or cross on the roof.and a cross in the rear hoop.
hopefully it shold all stay bolt on.
after this i will be changing the front panles (new wings and front panle) cuting the corners off an virtual lift
putting the front lr arches inline with the wing tops.
i will post a pic of what i mean later.

Re: d86 get's a make over !!!!!!!
Good good, glad to hear you're doing a proper job of it then, not that i would expect anything less of course!
ah pete tongs ol' sj, i do like that, nearly went down that route with mine but decided that i wanted to keep it looking fairly stock.

Re: d86 get's a make over !!!!!!!
well.
it's not often i will post a unfinished part of a project.
but.
i thought you may like this one...
the old front bar has gone to make way for a winch bumper....
( its only half done i needed to fit it to get the correct angle for the winch)
also still undecided whether to go with the warn m8000 i have or just get another t-max like the one in the back, only prob with the t-max is they are a tad heavy nearly 15kg heavier than the warn.
so can i afford the extra weight or do i just buy a new superwinch 10000lb....

Re: d86 get's a make over !!!!!!!
also a bit stuck on tyres at the mo...
i really need 33" but...
to much boddy mods to fit them and the gearing is so low at the min im worried i will loose that..
so do i just go 235/85 r16 - 265/75 r16,in a simex copy.(shafts/cv's will be a issue then)
or
stay with macho's but in a 32" ???????????

Re: d86 get's a make over !!!!!!!
coming along nicely there Tony! i must get around to fitting my winch, it's been sat in the workshop for over a year gathering dust
I say if you like machos then go with them in 32! but then again it's nice to try something new
