wheyyyyy propa job! one question though! how many headlight stickers etc do you get on that sheet?? if you have any spare after you've finished would you be willing to sell some as I haven't got a decal sheet for mine

no worries, when I'm done you can have whatever is left, there are x2 pairs of headlight stickers,so i'll only be using one, and Ill use the sammy grill leaving the 410/jimmy one, and to be honest i don't know if i will use the hinge stickers or not, I've been thinkinh about making some hinges up out of plastic,

awesome fair play matey, just so happens I'd love a 410 grill. as it's a sort of off colour mini version of mine

I appear to have lost abit of this thread (must have been when the forum did a landrover) so ill re-post some of my more recent photo's

well this has been a long time coming......







and the obligatory twist shot... (although it doesn't matter as its more about looking right)



and then I just made a bracket to hold the battery and tiewrapped things down, although it was only a little thing it ment I could start running it around again, which was a highlight,







I had to raise the battery up quite high so that it wouldn't hit the servo on the front axle(while compressed) when I was using the highest shock settings It might be tight under the bonnet of the sj body, but hopefully the adjustable shocks will be able to get the ride hight spot on once I've done something with the body!

I've been requested to post the sketch I used to make the chassis, If it helps some else out they are more than welcome to use it, I based most of the measurements on the original chassis



If I was to make the chassis again I would move the rear shock towers forward slightly, I lined the center of the tower up with the rear wheel center and it makes the shockers lean slightly backwards, next time I'd line the center of the tower up with the bottom eye of the shock mounting,

Also I angled the front shock absorbers back ward to allow the servo to still be mounted on the front axle, generally it clears the servo but at full extent the spring does touch, also I had to usse 3mm nuts to spacer the top of the shockers out from the chassis

and now I've done abit more on it ( i know it certainly isn't a quick build!)

I lowered the front chassis bracket, remounted the esc and battery and I also got the dirt grabbers from rc4wd,







And with the body on





the body is great but the wheel base is a little to long for it, so I'm going to shorten the links for the front axle (and move the y piece further back) Im also struggling with too much articulation and the wheels binding on the body, does any one know where I could buy some MRC plastic shock/spring spacers? I bought the mrc second hand so it didn't come with any and I could do with stiffening it all up

How much did the RC car and the shell cost all in?

I'll say its not cheap..... I got the car and controller second hand for £100, the body was around £30-£40 (from hong kong) and the wheels were extortion (around £60 from america) but i'm doing it in dribs and drabs so it doesn't seem so expensive, I don't see how people (who are into RC) can go out and spend £300-£400 on a rig, I'll admit I'm a tight arse and when I put down the costs it sickens me, I don't know how I could do it any cheaper though!

Yeah £200 or so isn't to bad... you could buy a running full size SJ for £400

I'm not going to say how much I've spent on my mrc then and i still want a few more upgrades as i keep destroying servos
