What oil should I choose for the diffs and gearboxes? (SJ413 -86)
From what I've read so far I should avoid GL 5 since they eat the transmission and are no good for older transmissions.
Could I use the same GL 4 all around? THere's a good price for 20 l, that's why I'm asking.
Looking at Gulf Gear EP 80W-90

Re: What oil to choose?
Gl5 for everything in SJs, there's no yellow metals in any of the transmission to worry about on SJs.
It's only vitara and jimny gearboxes that you need to use GL4 in. You still use GL5 in the transfer box and diffs though.
