OK cool, thanks.
Perhaps you could let me know how he's done it too as this is something I'd thought about.
I've looked it up in other areas and some people seem to think there's no way they fit, others seem to think they will fit if cut down.

Mate runs 33's on his catches slightly on flex, 4" spring & 2" body lift cranked radius arms..
As to breaking halfshafts he's run his on the 33's for at least three P&P days and not broke a shaft upto yet and he's flat out everywhere (not a lot of poke/torque from the 1.3) he runs a lobster box also to help.
I would say to run 31's well off road you'd want a 4' springs, cranked arms, extended brake hoses, and a lobster box to cope with the tyre size.
I will note he's eaten through kingpin bearings, he doesn't run spacers as his wheels have a good offset.

Thanks Boyes.
It's interesting to hear from someone who's got experience of the larger tyres.
If he's running 33's successfully, I'm sure 31's will be OK.
Got any pics/videos of his truck?

Cheers

Destroying king pin bearings on 33s isn't unusual or for wheel bearings to go quicker.
There's a lot more stress on them with the extra weight of the tyres and leverage of the off set wheels.

Meh, I can live with increased bearing consumption rates. It's to be expected.
Boyes, unfortunately I can't see those links. They must be private on Facebook.

Anything over a 215/75/15 will require lift and arch trimming.

Yeah, I'm quite happy to trim/lift. Like I say, the ones I'm looking at both have 3in spring lift and 2in body lift and are both running 31's. However, just because someone has bolted the tyres on, doesn't mean everything's going to work properly.
If I bought an unmodified one, I was also interested to work out how much money I'd have to spend to get bigger tyres fitted properly.
