Does that motor have a Dual Mass Flywheel??? If it does, and its broken, then this can cause all manner of vibration!! (you said its smooth if u let it roll down a hill so might be the motor/clutch).

Dont think so, it is really simple concept diesel XUD9A from PSA. Precombustion with turbine and Lucas injection pump, pretty agricultural. Besides, vibration would be present on idle and while starting which is not the case.

I can check that, will any markings outside on the axle housing or diff says that??? Or diff need to be opened? Prior, I will check original documentation/manual that came with it, perhaps it can help...

Depending how badly worn a pinion bearing is you can wobble the flange on the diff. Is the diff leaking oil?

Presume it is handbrake on rear drums?

When you did the props had the coating be rubbed of the splines? If they have been used with out grease the coating might have been rubbed off and it creates "slop" in the joint.
I will recheck UJ play again on jack stands, it might be some play on diffs flange but no leak so far. Handbrake is on rear drums not t Case. I wasnt noticed lack of coating on spline it was quite dirty messy. However, what I noticed (might be normal?) when car is parked in gear (props locked not spinning), when I push spline area really hard sideways small play can be felt. It is really small movement..?

Check the rear wheel bearings as well, they can make some nasty and strange noises when they have failed. jack the back axle up and give them a spin and wobble, check for play and noise while spinning the wheels.

And :welcome2: to :suzuki: clubUK

I will try that too but dont think is wheel bearing because when they fail You can hear it on downhill with transmission disengaged (idling).
Many thanks for all replies for such short time guys.

This is what i found, it is original user manual and service book in swedish  . Here is steering, engine and transmission info. Hope this will throw some light to ratios for diff???

I'd say it is the Stutaxel value of 3.416:1, this translates on google to steer axle, and sort of makes sense.
From this I think the number of teeth will be 12/41, so if you find another diff you can count the teeth before buying.

I originally thought it was back, 3.466, but this will be the reverse gear.

3.416 would make sense being a diesel as its a higher ratio.

Handy though as if you fit bigger tyres even a set of standard samurai diffs will be a nice gearing reduction.

Yes, and 413 difs a fraction more so. They should just drop in, but you'll have to swap both simultaneously. Although I get the feeling you probably already know enough about cars to know that!
