Hi guys, thanks for all the replies, i love the atmosphere on these forums, already got a rear prop sorted (Thanks ladaman!), just sooooo impatient to go have a play, was expecting to be able to go this weekend before prop went on the way back..

Definitely wasn't thinking of removing the front diff, was just thinking of fitting new bearings to the knackered diff and swapping front to back if they were a straight swap and keeping an eye on it..

I'll count the teeth on it in the morning and post result.

Thanks again!

Dean.

Being a sammy it should be 3.727 so the tooth count should be 41 crownwheel and 11 pinion.

I might have an ok sammy diff, will check. I've got loads I need to rebuild

If you're requiring new bearings drop me a pm letting me know what you're after as I get a good discount through a supplier at work, and most bearings are next day, mainly industrial stuff as apposed to car wheel bearings. Myself personally I would source another diff or even axle, always good to have a few spares.

I'd have to check, I probably do, but I can't check out the diffs until I get back, they're in storage.

Another option would be if anyone has a good ring and pinion set and i'll have it rebuilt with all new bearings..

If I don't have one, and Scottie doesn't have one (chances are about 99% one of us does) then Mike Harris will definitely have one.

I'll check what I have as soon as I can, if Scottie finds a good one before I get a chance, then I'd have whatever he's got - I'm only learning about diffs, what I've got might look good to me but actually turn out to be as bad as the diff you pulled!

I've got diffs that would be good for a rebuild I think.
