the chap who said he could sort me out the dics, calipers and mounts has ones off a Jap model and a set of girling calipers.

id rather only carry one set of pads if i need to.

Cheers
Have a look, just because its Spanish dosent mean it wont have Jap callipers, you never know what someone did or how it came out of the factory. My old one was Spanish with Aisin on

Aisin calipers have a slightly better reputation, they don't stick as much. But if you grease up the sliders on girlings, they're just fine (use silicone grease).

One thing that I will say about carrying two sets of spare pads is that a set of pads should outlast your trip by thousands of miles and then some - is it really an issue? And 2 sets of pads take up very little room...

Just saw your post Anton, yeah is a good point, probs being over cautious thinking if one gets smashed or contaminated which would probs not happen. Also true that they dont take up much space aswell.

If you can find some girlings, no harm in going girlings all around.

Let us know what you find!

If you can look them over, check for pitting on the pistons. If they're pitted, get new pistons.

I always recommend a full rebuild when you get brakes - new seals and boots at the very least, and a fresh coat of silicone grease for the sliders.

I get mine from brakes international or bigg red.

I find bigg red overpriced unless you use their ebay store, though.
