Low ratios in the diff's will take lots of the load out of the props and the rest of the transmission.

Don't think there are any cheap options for landrover diff's though.

What gearing are you running. Standard landy axles on 38s must be hard for it to turn? Think they are about 3.5:1 aren't they?

They don't make low ratio c and p for lr

Have to fit rest lr running gear to make it come close to work

Gearing won't be right even with the lowest t-box I wouldn't say

But what do I know !! :)

Ashcroft make 4.7s

Pricey though compared to just chucking some Vits in an SJ diff.

You can get 4.88's for Yota axles - thought about running toyota axles instead of LR ones?

If the tyre is a true 38 and bet it isn't if you measure it 4.7 won't be enough.

You would need a 6.5 transfer box and 4.7 diffs I would say

Be great to see some pics

Get rid of the landrover stuff and fit yota or patrol axles with some 5.12 diffs and lower the Tbox gears

How did this go? Did you reinforce the LR axles in the end?
