So my best course of action is finding a couple of standard axles and the fitting these yj springs under the axle? Or fit them above on these ones or will it be far too high?
It seems strange the guy who built it did a good job on most things then scrimped on the suspension set up.

YJs can be fitted spring over, you just end up very high and get the associated steering and axle tramp issues.

Work very well spring under on Scotties "home brew" kit and Ferris gets pretty good flex off his using an aftermarket kit.

I would say that's one of the nicer spoa set ups that have appeared
On here.

Looks like 1-2 inch springs.
Half high steering with a merc arm.
Perches look solid and keep the same diff angle.

So I wouldn't say they have skrimpt on it. It looks
Relatively well done.

I am not entirely sure where you can get a YJ kit from but I think you may have to go to the states or make it yourself.
