I'm suprised you can see anything in that engine bay anton! It's so muddy!

Thanks Anton. Yours fits flush to bulkhead? I heard somewhere this may require moving the heater control thing? I think Andyrew has me sorted - he has a shorter one that should do it. It involves longer brake lines but Andy being handy, he is making some longer ones up for me. I owe him a holiday in the Maldives.
edit p.s. Anton - looking at your engine position, and the rocker, cam cover relative to rad and bonnet catch - is your cooling fan centred on the rad?? Mine is offset to the driver side.

I'll have a look tomorrow, mate. I think my fan is offset to drivers side, but I can't say that for sure because I don't fully remember.
I'll measure up a little if I can find a tape measure.

It's kinda hard to tell from that angle but your engine does look like it's clocked over to the driver side quite a bit, this could be causing the clearance Issues. The one in my pic as sat at the angle it should be, slightly clocked to the passenger side.
Is the top of your gearbox level?
The $10 engine mounts sit lower in the chassis than 413 mounts as well so if you made adapters to use those there's a chance the engine is sitting too low, do you have any pics of your mounts?
The centre of the oil filter should be pretty much level with the top of the chassis rail as in the pic i posted.

sorry for delay Scottie, needed to get some light in there for pics:

driver side mount, from underneath

Dimension from centre of cambelt cover bolt (centre of bolt to edge of fold on wing steel) = 592mm
- em4.jpg (79.15 KiB) Viewed 6493 times
I note the nearside mount bracket is offset to lower engine relative to mount on chassis - d'side mount seems bolts are inline, i.e. no offset. My oil filter centreline looks a bit higher than top edge of chassis rail, not a lot and v hard to measure.
Plan at the moment is fit the short (near-flush) servo off late Samis, moving heater valve in process. I can revert all this later if I want real origina;lity and the servo on it now isn't original anyway, it may have been non-servo (late '85, don't know) but this current servo has been fitted later anyway.
Any info on engine mounts appreciated, I want to check it is right or get it right some time along the way but right now get the carb on and go

probably the drivers side mount has been welded on slightly pissed if your engine is tilted over
