Thanks Scottie, I might just buy one then, rough country or pro comp? I read mostly that rough country is the one to go for but I prefer (aesthetically) the old white version over the new silver N20 version.

Just get a new standard one. There's no point getting an aftermarket one in my opinion especially when they dont bolt up in the original position and the mounts supplied with them position them in a stupid place that's vulnerable to damage.

Ive even know MOT testers to fail aftermarket ones because of the way they are mounted. Apparently because one end isn't "chassis mounted" not really sure why but it's not unheard of.

Only reason I fitted an aftermarket damper was because I got it for free  I also made my own mounts for it up out of harms way. Tbh I don't even notice the difference without it fitted.

Yeah I can understand what your saying, but the standard replacement is about £40 posted and the rough country £75 so there's only £35 extra and I like the look of them.

I can't find anywhere with them in stock anyway so still making my mind up.

one rock and it's game over for it though.....If you do get an aftermarket one I would bin the mounts and make your own.

Function over form for me, no good once it's dented/bent and only worthy of the scrap bin.

Mine is mounted well out of harms way.

Exact same as my old one, that's dead.

I got my bog standard £26.65 Monroe Damper from India, took about 8 days, straight swap and more dosh for other stuff :D

As scott says, ive had mine fail MOT before because of where it was mounted.
Currently running 31s with a stock (new) damper no issues. Not much bump steer.

I never had an issue with wheel wobble until I put the 40mm spacers on! But it was fairly minor, the damper just eliminates it.

I'm chuffed with mine, it's been great, I have a drop pitman arm fitted to my zook and it doesn't have the facility to fit a standard steering damper, so instead I have the pro comp heavy duty damper, it's been fine since I fitted it!
