No worries. I should have taken photos of 1.6 conversion without adapter plate to write that up.

Well useful program, you can use it to compare carbs for free, only thing you dont get in the free version is the suggested needles

http://www.winsu.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

You can show a graph and put different needles on it. Well worth a download

Yeah got that but that page is a lot less clunky. Win su is handy but even when i put in all my trucks details it didnt suggest a BFM so obviously the whole needle thing is trial and error.

I think the problem is that its specifically designed for MGs and stuff like that....

I think I've figured out the best way... when I've got tim pinks engine and put it in, I will stick a universal lambda sensor in the exhaust and get an air/fuel mix gauge.

Should be able to use it to see exactly where the needle is too rich/lean and use WinSU to find an alternative... or I could attack it with emery cloth!

Yeah nothing beats real life measured results. You could go on forever fiddling on win su but theres too many variables it dosent account for. Air temp, altitude, humidity, type of fuel, type of oil. Get an actuall measurement for your specific scenario and you know where your at.

Win su said my truck will have a top speed of 106mph!

To save someone a phone call here are the part numbers for the 1.6 setup from Burlen

BFM Needle -- NZX8060
Yellow Spring (For later ball bearing type carbs) -- AUD4398
Inlet Gasket -- AUD4706
Manifold Gasket -- AUC4279

Probably a good idea to add to the top post

I'm bidding on a HIF38 and it's got me wondering, what air cleaner to I use? Do I need some kind of adapter for the SJ standard one or do I fit one from a Metro?
