niva's were actually quite advanced when new as most 4x4s were still running leafs and the ride isnt too bad from what i remember

You can still buy brand new nivas from a chap in London, they're around 10,000, but I suppose compared to a 22,000 for a new defender they are reasonable. Id like the riva ( instead of a niva) like a poor man's Volvo, really blocky and basic!
